Bijrani-Malani
This area is the one besides Jhirna & Lohachaur where day visits are
allowed. Besides Tiger, one can see here interesting Bird life & Wild
Elephants.
The forest vegetation at Bijrani is mainly Sal besides grassland popularly
called Chaur. The terrain at Bijrani is drier and also has more diverse
vegetation.
Mailani Tal and Phul Tal located in the Bijrani Range are stagnant water
bodies. Besides there are no. of seasonal water streams popularly called sot
like Kithcer Sot, Reethapani Sot, Khina Sot & Malani Sot.
There are about four species of deer in the park, Chital (Axis Axis), the
well-known spotted deer and considered one of the most beautiful in the
world. A smaller cousin of Chital is the Para (Axis porcinus), The Sambar
(Cervus unicolor), Kakkar (Muntiacus muntjak) also known as the barking deer
are once again very common sight in the park. These Herbivores presence in
large nos in this zone confirms the presence of Carnivores like cat family
in this zone.
Reptiles found in the area are the India Python, Viper, Cobra, Krait and
the dreaded King Cobra and various type of lizards.
In the Bijrani area chances of seeing sloth bear are excellent. Attracted
here by both termites and the sweet nectar of Mahua flowers the bears have
often been observed in an inebriated state when the Mahua ferments in their
stomachs.
Dhole or the Wild Dog is rare and can be seen in the Bijrani area. They are
pack animals, with a very specialized community hunting technique. The
Jackals are commonly seen in the park.

Bijrani Zone
Bijrani: The area in and around Bijrani once formed part of a shooting
block. During the British period it was much famed for the quality of game
hunting that it offered to shikaris. In comparison to Dhikala, the terrain
at Bijrani is drier and also has more diverse vegetation.
Malani Zone
This FRH lies 12 km due northwest of Bijrani. Located on the edge of the
core zone of the Park, Malani has offers one of the most picturesque
surroundings and solitude. The drive up to Malani is quite rewarding in
mammal and bird sightings.
